An Introduction to Aerogels

Category General
Difficulty Level Normal
Audience Level General
Description Applications are determined by structures. In this course, students are taught to be informed about structures in nanoscales.
Overview
Structures have a great deal of influence on materials’ properties, and properties leads to find out materials’ application.

On top of that, in nanoscale, materials are manipulated to reach a specific structure for new applications. In one sense nanostructures are classified as zero, one, two and three dimensional structures. In addition, carbon nanostructures, porous materials, organic nanostructures and natural nanostructures are known classifications.

Booklet
Description
It starts with an introduction to aerogels, it goes through aerogel properties, synthesis methods, and different types.

Mental Challenge
Is aerogel a “nanomaterial”?

Quizzes and Activities

Activity: Research why aerogels are so special among all porous structures?
