Description Applications are determined by structures. In this course, students are taught to be informed about structures in nanoscales.
Overview
Structures have a great deal of influence on materials’ properties, and properties leads to find out materials’ application.

On top of that, in nanoscale, materials are manipulated to reach a specific structure for new applications. In one sense nanostructures are classified as zero, one, two and three dimensional structures. In addition, carbon nanostructures, porous materials, organic nanostructures and natural nanostructures are known classifications.

Booklet
Description
It gives an introduction to nanoparticles and gives some explanation. It then talks about materials used in nanocomposites, their properties and applications, and how composites can change to nanocomposites. Then it introduces the question “why nanocomposites”, and finishes with more details on their properties.

Mental Challenge
Why do we need to make composites “nano”?

Quizzes and Activities

Activity: Explain how can a nanoparticle-reinforced composite differ from a particle-reinforced nanocomposite.
