Graphene in Textiles in Finishing

Category General
Difficulty Level Normal
Audience Level General
Description Nanoscience has a wide range of effects on other industries. In this course, a huge amount of information in regards with the role of nanoscience in industries is presented.
Overview
Rapid development of nanotechnology is often considered as a fundamental revolution in technology and is compared with the discovery of antibiotics, television, nuclear weapons, and computer technologies. Nanotechnology is a key technology and refers to a wide range of scientific and technological activities that study and work with phenomena or properties at nanometer scale (around 0.1-100nm; one nanometer is one millionth of a meter). Introducing current and potential applications is as significant as education. In this course, nanotechnology applications in textile, agriculture, oil and gas, automotive, environment, sports and nutrition industry are reported.

Booklet
Description
It talks about graphene finished fabrics and thermally conductive and electrically conductive fabrics. It goes through anti-microbe fabrics and fire-retardant fabrics. Then it talks about the applications of graphene reinforced textiles in different industries and in smart and electronic textiles. It also talks about graphene in military, medical and sanitary textiles. It ends with talking about graphene in sport textiles

Mental Challenge
What properties can graphene, as a nanomaterial, provide for textiles?

Quizzes and Activities

Activity: Research the results of such unique properties in graphene
