Nano is still a strange word for society. It is essential to know what exactly nano term is. This course helps us to recognize the meaning of nanotechnology. In order to make nano term more tangible, definition of technology, science and etc. is incorporated in this course.  By the end of this course, nano is not an unknown word anymore.

 Everything has its own advantages and disadvantages. Like the time you eat lots of candies and you harm your teeth. Nanotechnology is not an exception. We use nanoparticles as targeted drugs but they may pass through the body's defensive systems due to their small size and create harmful and irreversible effects.

 Activity: Pick a glass and fill the half of that with water. Now add 10 drops of oil into the water. Try to purify water by picking the oil drops.

Take another glass, solve a little soap in water and add 10 drops of oil, try to purify water by picking the oil drops. At the end, compare purifying with previous situation. Which one is easier? Why?
