Introduction to Nanofiltration 2

Category General
Difficulty Level Normal
Audience Level General
Description Nano system is known as a functional system for doing a task in which nanomaterials are used. Nano systems are explained in this course.
Overview
Nano systems are known as multifunctional systems engineered at nanoscales. Distinctive physicochemical properties with massive prospects in therapeutic and diagnostic applications distinguish this kind of systems.

Nanomaterials are chemical substances or materials that are synthesized and used at nanoscales. Nanomaterials are developed for exhibiting striking features in comparison with the same materials without nanoscale features; features such as increased strength, chemical reactivity, conductivity and magnetic.

Booklet
Description
It talks about the classification of membrane separation processes, then it goes through some basics such as the size range of pores in membranes. Then it goes through the definition of nanofiltration, and provide some descriptions, such as membrane in nanofiltration, …. Then it talks about the separation mechanism that governs nanofiltration. It talks about some phenomena such as image forces, and gets detailed in the process.

Mental Challenge
Why do we call it “NANO” for nanofiltration?
