Nanostructures in Semi-Conductor Gas Nanosensors 1

Category General
Difficulty Level Normal
Audience Level General
Description Nano system is known as a functional system for doing a task in which nanomaterials are used. Nano systems are explained in this course.
Overview
Nano systems are known as multifunctional systems engineered at nanoscales. Distinctive physicochemical properties with massive prospects in therapeutic and diagnostic applications distinguish this kind of systems.

Nanomaterials are chemical substances or materials that are synthesized and used at nanoscales. Nanomaterials are developed for exhibiting striking features in comparison with the same materials without nanoscale features; features such as increased strength, chemical reactivity, conductivity and magnetic.

Booklet
Description
It starts with talking about the properties of a nanocrystal, the relation between the size of grain-boundaries, and sensitivity properties, goes through the relations between different parameters, different kinds of nanostructures, their mechanisms and provides some images. It talks about nanowires and their types and properties, different kinds of nanowires, some examples of metallic nanowires, and their advantages and disadvantages. Then it goes through some more details.

Mental Challenge
Are nanoparticles the only nanostructures used in nanosensors?

Response to Mental Challenge
Activity: Find a model of the relation between grain boundary and gas-sensor sensitivity properties. Give the assumptions and conclusions.
