Intrinsic and Non-Intrinsic Semiconductors

Category General
Difficulty Level Normal
Audience Level General
Description Have a good knowledge of material structures leads to recognizing material behavior based on its structure. In this course, material structures and properties are elaborated in bulk and nanoscale.
Overview
It is clear that, every atomic structure has its own specific bulk properties. Therefore, being familiar with atomic arrangements, different atomic bonds and different kinds of cubic structures provide a general understanding for recognizing materials and components’ properties. On the other hand, in nanoscales, atomic structures are changed which generates novel properties.
Hence, being familiar with mentioned different parameters in atomic structure makes what happens in nanoscale understandable.

Booklet
Description
It talks about band theory in semiconductors, semiconductor valance band, and differences between conductors and semiconductors. In the end, it describes semiconductor doping.

Mental Challenge
What makes a material a conductor and another, a semiconductor?

Quizzes and Activities

Activity: Name five conductor materials and their other properties
