Description Materials and their components are described in this course. In addition, Materials’ classification and different kinds of properties are explained. Which properties are changed in nanoscale and the reason of these changes are another subject which are considered in this course.
Overview
In this course, materials and their components are introduced. Components lead to classify materials in different groups. Every group has its specific structure and properties. All of these subjects are explained in this course. Furthermore, in nanoscale, properties are changed. The reason of outstanding material properties in nanoscale is also explained in this course.

It should be noted, if material properties are introduced in bulk and nanoscale taking a deductive approach, tangible concepts of structures in nanoscale are gained. Deductive approach enables us to classify nano and bulk materials in our mind.

Booklet
Description
All the materials’ properties, which do not alter the nature of material, are called physical properties. Such as, flexibility, melting and freezing, changes in material forms, or crumbling paper.

Mental Challenge
Compare melting a copper rod and mold it into another shape and burning a paper. Which one will be changed?

Quizzes and Activities
Activity: Dissolve the salt in water. Is it a physical change or not and why?
